The three valleys make up the largest skiing area in the World and Brides-Les-Bains is one of the best kept secrets of the trois vallees. A proper French village just 20 minutes gondola ride from Meribel. Meribel has an excellent snow record and is suitable for all levels of ability from beginner to fanatic. You'll be staying at the 2 star Hotel Les Chalets which is just 150 metres from the Meribel Gondola. This bright, pretty hotel and restaurant has 35 modern, clean and airy rooms. The newly refurbished restaurant offers 4-course evening meals including local specialities such as Raclette and Pierrade. The comfortable hotel bar has an open fire. There's also a fitness room with a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, solarium and gym. And there's a games room with a pool table and some computer games.
All amenities are close at hand including supermarkets, ski and clothing shops, ATM and post office.
Brides nightlife has improved in recent years. And there's a bar right beside the lift that looks after those important Apres Ski requirements. a range of reasonably priced restaurants, two nightclubs and even a casino.
Méribel offers 16 high capacity gondolalifts. And also: 18 chair-lifts (including one 8-seater and four 6-seater), 14 drag-lifts, 8 telebabies and 1 moving walkway.
