Meet outside the Hulme End Visitor Centre in Hulme at 10am.
The walk is a total of about 10 miles with a break for lunch at the halfway point. We recommend walking boots for this walk. Do bring some kind of waterproof and some snacks preferably in a small rucksack. Do bring water with you, especially if it is a warm day.
This walk takes you over a stretch of the Manifold Way, which was a former narrow gauge railway line, and ran through a particularly scenic area of the Peak District.
After lunch you be heading off up a track to the crest of Ecton Hill which is famed as having had the deepest and richest copper mines in the whole of Europe.
This walk is steeped in history, and provides breath-taking views of the country side.
