The Old Nags Head is the official start of the Pennine way. It was formerly the village blacksmiths, and offers accommodation and delicious pub lunches.
They have around 3 well-kept real ales on offer along with tea, coffee and hot chocolate etc. and a warm fire to sit next to and dry out/warm up after a day on the hills.
They're not too fussy about walkers with boots either as the floor in the main bar is tiled. Should the weather be good, the Nags Head has seating out the front and in a garden area.
