| Turner's Welsh inspired art to be displayed in US |
Tuesday 29 May 2007 |
An American gallery is filming a documentary in Wales about the work of esteemed artist JMW Turner.
The National Gallery of Art in Washington DC has commissioned the film as part of an exhibition about the painter to be held later this year and will shoot at various locations this week including Tintern Abbey in Monmouthshire, reports the BBC.
Turner made many visits to Wales during the 1790s and painted various buildings, landmarks and scenic spots in places such as the Wye Valley, Cardigan, Aberystwyth, Snowdonia and Llangollen.
The film is being written, directed and produced by Carroll Moore, who told the broadcaster: "We're visiting Aberdulais falls [near Neath] on Wednesday, which was a very important picture for Turner. Then on Thursday we visit Tintern Abbey."
Many parts of Wales are extremely beautiful and make a wonderful place to visit for a short break, particularly if you are interested in taking part in lots of outdoor activities.
Revitalise yourself with a fun activity break.
