Oxford Castle on shortlist for more awards Tuesday 08 May 2007

Following on from the two accolades it has already received this year, Oxford Castle has been shortlisted for two more awards.

The ancient structure, in the historic municipality of Oxford, has placed in the shortlist for the Mixed Used Development of the Year category of the Mail on Sunday British Homes Awards.

Moreover, the Royal Institute of British Architects has also shortlisted it for an award.

Earlier this year Oxford Castle won the hotel and tourism category at a global real estate summit in Cannes, France, and also won a special Civic Trust award at a ceremony in Blackpool.

Oxford Castle is just one of the many attractions which draw tourists to the charming English town, which is also renowned for its participation in the university boat race against Cambridge.

Despite not winning the race this year, it is still as popular as ever to punt along the river in Oxford, particularly from the Cherwell Boat House.
