| New flights from Scotland to Egypt with Flyglobespan |
Tuesday 29 May 2007 |
Web-based airline Flyglobespan has announced the inclusion of weekly flights to the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh as part of its winter sun programme.
Scottish holidaymakers will be able to fly to the Egyptian hotspot from Glasgow and Edinburgh airports as of November 2007 until March 2008, with ticket prices starting from £174.99 including taxes.
Commenting on the increasing popularity of the resort, Flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple said: "The climate is superb and it is a fascinating country catering for all holiday tastes. It is steeped in history for the sightsee-ers and offers some of the world's finest diving and snorkelling for the more energetic."
David Johnston, managing director of Edinburgh Airport, added: "The Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh is extremely popular with holidaymakers seeking some winter sun and we will to continue to work closely with flyglobespan to ensure the success of this new route."
