| May-time fun in Docklands |
Thursday 17 May 2007 |
The different communities of East London and the Docklands will be celebrated at the Museum in Docklands this month.
A series of events entitled People - Who are we? will feature, among other things, traditional African and Caribbean dances which will be complemented by dance workshops.
There will also be a screening of the film Lion Mountains: a journey through Sierra Leone, which depicts an exploration of the director's roots and of his country, as well as the chance for people to delve into their own family history.
Anyone visiting the area will be able to enjoy the history of Docklands before embarking on the various activities. Moreover, if you happen to cycle to the museum, you will be treated to a fun-filled bike-ride as an added bonus!
East London and the docks provide the perfect setting for cycling, helped by a smattering of historic landmarks and the River Thames.
Get your heart racing with one of our activity days.
