| Manchester Airport re-vamp |
Tuesday 29 May 2007 |
Anyone planning on travelling to Manchester will be pleased to hear that Terminal 1 at the city's airport is undergoing a transformation.
Over £35 million will be invested in the re-vamp, which is being carried out following research into the behaviour of passengers as they made their way through the airport.
The money will be used to create one of the biggest shopping facilities at any UK-based airport, and will include the construction of a mezzanine bar and dining area.
Andrew Harrison, commercial director for Manchester Airport, said: "We're very in touch with our passengers' needs and we?re very excited about the start of work of this new, specially designed airport experience.
"Passengers are increasingly looking for a highly-professional and strategically designed retail, drinking and dining experience when they come through the airport and this latest investment will deliver against increased expectations.
"We've carefully designed the zones after the security area to match the specific needs and moods of our passengers."
Manchester is a great city to visit for a weekend break and is especially suited to those keen on spending a few days playing tennis, as the city boasts some excellent facilities for the sport.
