| Lake District festival to have Latin flavour |
Wednesday 16 May 2007 |
Attendees of a summer festival taking place in the Lake District will be treated to a lively Latino show, courtesy of a group of Spanish street artists.
Xarxa Teatre will be performing their show Veles e Vents this year's Windermere on Water (WOW) festival, situated around Lake Windemere, between June 8th and June 10th, the News and Star reports.
The performance will take place on the middle Saturday (June 9th) and is expected to involve fireworks, scenery, costumes and music. The Latino group has performed shows in 36 countries during the last 25 years.
Abi Willis, of the Windermere on Water festival's public relations and marketing team, said: "This year Windermere on Water hopes to attract even more visitors to the area with an event of international quality and significance helping them to broaden their appreciation of the landscape and environment of the Lake District."
The Lake District is a popular tourist destination, not just for the entertainment on offer during the summer months, but also because of its vast expanse of countryside which provides endless opportunities to take part in fun-filled outdoor activities.
WOW festival also involves many such activities, including kayaking, sailing and lake cruises.
Revitalise yourself with a fun activity break.
