| Egyptian eco-fun in Sharm El Sheikh |
Wednesday 16 May 2007 |
Egypt is an amazing country to visit for a holiday, filling all the standard requirements of sun, sea and sand. However, it is also a country with a rich history, and moreover, one which has plenty to offer in the way of outdoor entertainment.
Writing in Egypt Today magazine, Marwa Helal reveals the top 'eco-activities' on offer in the top holiday spot, whereby tourists and locals alike can enjoy the natural wonders on offer in Egypt.
Fishing is one of the recommended pursuits, especially in the top diving red sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh. Deep-sea fishing trips on fully equipped yachts can be arranged with a number of companies in the area, where you can hope to catch marlin, snapper, mackerel and tuna fish.
Bird watching is also highlighted as an enjoyable pastime, notably around Lake Borolos, Lake Qaroon and Wadi Degla.
Another of the premier pastimes in which to indulge during any visit to Egypt is diving, with key locations cited by Helal as Marsa Alam, Rocky Island and the remote Daedalus Reef.
Sharm El Sheikh is also a great place to visit for a diving break, with its calm clear waters also proving popular for snorkelling and other waters ports such as wind surfing.
Make a splash with a diving break.
