| Cruise ship begins inaugural journey from Barcelona |
Friday 27 April 2007 |
Royal Princess, the newest ship to join the Princess Cruises fleet, set sail on its maiden voyage from Barcelona this week.
Under the command of the line's senior master, commodore Michael Fatchen, the ship departed from the glorious Spanish city on April 19th carrying 710 passengers as part of the First Elite Mediterranean Cruises.
Her first voyage will include top destinations such as Mallorca, Marseille, Florence, Elba and Palermo.
Consequent cruises will feature other equally thrilling locations, including Egypt, the Crimean coast and Ravenna in Italy. Passengers aboard the luxury liner will be treated to an array of dining options, a high quality spa, 24-hour room service and the Grand Casino. What's more, the ship has been newly decorated, had new carpets and upholstery, new mattresses and bedding, as well as new production staging in the show lounge.
For those who want to visit Barcelona to take in the wondrous sights of the city, rather than embark on a trip on a cruise ship, there is plenty to keep you entertained - particularly if you are planning a city break.
Take time out with a city break.
