| Cardiff increasingly popular for UK students |
Tuesday 01 May 2007 |
Cardiff University is preparing for an influx of prospective students when it hosts its annual Open Day tomorrow (Wednesday).
Over 5,000 potential undergraduates and their parents will travel from locations throughout Wales, the UK and indeed the world, to the popular institution to discuss courses, applications, finances and accommodation.
The Open Day will have the theme of 'Wish You Were Here?' and will feature a multitude of displays and talks which cover the subjects taught by the 28 different academic schools at Cardiff.
There are 4,500 places available at the University, which has already been approached by 36,000 applicants and it is not difficult to understand the popularity of Cardiff, least of all because it is a renowned educational establishment.
The Welsh capital is a great place to study for three years, and it is also a great place to visit for a break. This lively town is full of entertainment, and moreover it is less than an hour away from the Brecon Beacons, a haven for outdoor activities.
