| Brecon Beacons chosen as film location |
Wednesday 16 May 2007 |
A new film starring Mackenzie Crook is to be shot in various locations throughout Wales, including Cardiff and tourist hotspot the Brecon beacons.
Abraham's Point is the story of a young man who goes on a journey from London to west Wales in a struggle to overcome a family tragedy, the BBC reports.
The main role will be played by Crook, who first shot to fame when he appeared as Gareth Keenan in the hit BBC2 comedy series The Office with Ricky Gervais.
A company from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff will be producing the feature, which is being written and directed by Wyndham Price.
Mr Price said: "Abraham's Point is a classic tale with an epic conclusion that will be shot on the beaches of Pembrokeshire.
"Although often funning, the film has the feel of a thriller and is an emotionally gripping story that results in liberation."
He added that the production team are "absolutely delighted" to be working with Crook on the film, which is set to be unveiled at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
The Brecon Beacons are renowned for their glorious scenery, making the area a perfect location for filming - not to mention a great destination for a short break.
